"Soft Top" Manufacturer needed

Hi there,

I own a R4 Plein Air conversion but without any soft top und would like to buy a complete one without doors ...

trailer hitch on Plein Air

Interesting question. I have never seen a Plein Air with a trailer hitch, but I would not know of any reason why that would not be allowed. I own a Renault 4 ACL Rodeo, which is basically the same car as a Plein Air and it does have a trailer hitch and receives a French Control Technique approval every two years without any comments on the hitch.
The Plein Air, like any Renault R4, has a separate chassis. This is the same as the regular R4, the fourgonnette and the Rodeo and has the same specifications. Therefore, my Rodeo could be accepted as a precedent. I believe that the rules and regulations surrounding automotive trailer hitches are based on EU regulations and are more or less the same throughout the EU. A base rule is that trailering with equipment that used for towing of a total weight of less than 750 kg is allowed without specific requirements other than that the used equipment, material and construction should be sufficiently solid and safe for the purpose.

Trailer hitch on Plein Air

Hello Plein Air community,

I need your support! I have installed a Trailer hitch on my Plein Air. Now I tried to licence the hitch in the papers of the car by German TÜV (issuer of vehicle licences in GER): paper then says how heavy the trailer (with brake / without brakes) can be. TÜV said that a trailer hitch is not allowed, because it´s a cabriolet (convertible). But I have seen many other convertible with trailer hitch.

So, my question is: Do you know / do you have a Plein with an trailer hitch? If so I can reference to this one and my TÜV will licence my hitch. Need not to be a German document, all kind of docs ae welcome here.

je viens d'acquérir une plein air à restaurer entièrement.
je l'inscrirai au registre dés que les papiers seront à mon nom.
j'ai des questions:
la carte grise indique:
carrosserie: CI 4p
PL assise: 5 (???)
est-ce normal?
le type est le bon (R1123), le n° dans la série (043158...), le numéro sinpar (en dessous de 200) et la mise en circulation correspondent pourtant.
merci beaucoup de vos réponses, et pardonnez ma discrétion, mais je mettrai photos et autre n° dés que ce sera possible.
